14th South Asian Games set for April 3–11 in Pakistan

The 14th South Asian Games will be held in Pakistan from April 3 to 11, 2027, according to the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC).

The dates and sports programme were finalised at the Executive Committee Meeting of the South Asia Olympic Council (SAOC) held in Islamabad.

The Games will bring together athletes from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

A total of 28 sports have been included in the programme. They are athletics, swimming, archery, badminton, basketball (3×3 and 5×5), billiards and snooker, boxing, cricket, fencing, football, golf, handball and beach handball, judo, hockey, kabaddi, karate, rowing, rugby, shooting, squash, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, triathlon, volleyball and beach volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling and wushu.

The Nepali delegation at the SAOC meeting comprised NOC President Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Vice President Chaturananda Raj Vaidya and National Sports Council member and Steering Committee member Sikka Suwal Shrestha.

The Games will be held under the theme “Unity in South Asia, Strength in Sports”, with the slogan “One Spirit, One Region, One Vision.”
