KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 23

Venus School and AVM School secured their places in the final of the Kathmandu Valley-wide Girls’ Football Tournament under the Asian Paints Champions Cup 2026 with impressive victories in today’s semifinals at the Laboratory Secondary School ground in Kirtipur.

In the first semifinal, Venus School defeated hosts Laboratory School 6–0 to book their place in the final. Minjal Lama scored a hat-trick for Venus, while Sahara Waiba, Anjana Tamang and Rina Syangtan scored one goal each.

In the second semifinal, AVM School defeated Shangrila Public School 9–0 to secure their place in the final. Pooja Thebe scored a hat-trick for AVM, while Aroshi Sharma scored twice. Srijana Baduwal, Kritisha Tamang, Kyara KC and Ujasha Nepal scored one goal each.

The Girls’ Football Final between AVM School and Venus School will be played tomorrow, 23 September, at 8:00 AM at the Laboratory School ground in Kirtipur.

Meanwhile, the Bagmati Province Boys’ Football Final will also be held tomorrow, 23 September, between Manakamana Secondary School, Kathmandu, and Madi Secondary School, Chitwan.
