KATHMANDU, AUGUST 9
The third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) will be held from October 26 to November 21, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced.
CAN issued a notice confirming the dates for the 2026 edition of the Twenty20 franchise league, which has emerged as Nepal’s premier professional cricket competition.
The NPL was launched in 2024 and features eight franchise teams representing different cities and provinces. The tournament follows a round-robin league phase before the playoffs, with player auctions and franchise ownership forming part of its professional structure.
The Janakpur Bolts won the inaugural edition in 2024 after defeating the Sudurpaschim Royals in the final. The Lumbini Lions claimed the 2025 title, again defeating the Sudurpaschim Royals in the final.
CAN is responsible for organising and managing the league, which is held annually toward the end of the year.
