KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 7

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephone conversation on Monday, according to the party.

During the call, Rubio expressed condolences over the loss of lives in the recent Bhotekoshi floods and solidarity with the people and government of Nepal.

Lamichhane said the RSP had extended all possible support to the government’s search, rescue and humanitarian relief operations in the flood-affected areas.

He also assured Rubio that the government was committed to ensuring the safety and protection of foreign nationals affected by the disaster and thanked the US government for its support to Nepal.

Rubio said the US government was ready to provide further assistance to Nepal during the crisis.
