MANANG, DECEMBER 18
A COVID-19 case has resurfaced in Manang district as a man is confirmed to have contracted the infection. Of the 282 suspected people who underwent PCR tests, 10 tested positive for the contagion, said the District Health Office Chief Badri Acharya, adding that, “Of them, nine have recovered from the infection.”
The 58-year-old man was admitted to a hospital in Besisahar after he suffered from fever and common cold. “Upon suspicion, he underwent COVID test. Eventually, he tested positive for the virus,” said the Provincial Health Directorate. His swab sample was tested in Pokhara. The infected man has been taken to Kathmandu for further treatment. Lately, the infection has spread among local people.
With the increasing risks of infection, strangers entering the district are required to provide PCR report with negative COVID status within 72 hours prior to undertaking the journey.
