KATHMANDU: The Nepal Communist Party (NCP) central committee meeting convened by party co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has begun, this afternoon.
The meeting, which is led by co-chair Dahal, is underway at Karki Banquet in Babarmahal in the capital city.
Prior to commencing the central committee meeting, members close to the ideologies of Dahal and Nepal had conducted their standing committee meet. It has been learnt, the standing committee has proposed that Nepal be appointed as the party chair in PM Oli’s stead.
Earlier today, another central committee meeting of NCP was led by co-chair Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The meeting formed a general convention organisers’ central committee comprising 1,199 members. The Oli-led central committee meeting also removed Narayan Kaji Shrestha from his position as the party spokesperson, appointing Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali in his place.
