KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 23
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and senior leader Ramchandra Paudel do not share the same view regarding the protest against dissolution of the House of Representatives.
According to an NC Central Working Committee member, Deuba today told the party’s Central Working Committee meeting that the party should only protest against ‘undemocratic and unconstitutional’ dissolution of the HoR whereas Paudel said that the party should launch protest demanding restoration of the HoR.
Deuba was of the view that the party should wait till the verdict of the Supreme Court on dissolution of the HoR. The SC has been hearing 12 petitions fchallenging the dissolution of the HoR.
The NC CWC is likely to decide about its protest programmes tomorrow. NC Vice-president Bimalendra Nidhi said his party had decided to mark National Unity Day on December 31.
He said the party decided to call for unity of those forces that respected the federal democratic and republican constitution of Nepal and oppose those forces that were against these values.
