Sanskrit education to be tech-friendly

DEUKHURI, DECEMBER 24

Nepal Sanskrit University has forwarded an action plan to make Sanskrit education technology-friendly.

A plan has been put forward to provide the preliminary course that is conducted before getting admission in Bachelor level in Sanskrit (Prakshastri) and Sanskrit language training through online in the first phase for the same.

It is planning to offer translation, research, writing of textbooks, editing of Sanskrit language for foreign students to run Bachelor’s level classes.

The Nepal Sanskrit University Assembly has passed the proposal of carrying out regular activities such as training and research for the preservation of traditional rituals of yoga and naturopathy.

The NSU Assembly was held on December 13 in Kathmandu.

Registrar of the university Madhav Adhikari said the study of yoga and lifestyle management would start from this year. He said the government would be asked to manage budget to conduct classes by creating a separate law faculty, operate classes by developing Bachelor of Pharmacy curriculum under the Institution of Ayurveda, hold the International Sanskrit Conference in 2024 and establish a 200- bed well-equipped integrated teaching hospital to run classes for students pursuing Ayurveda and wanting to pursue naturopathy in the near future.

The proposal to move forward the process of establishing Vedic Agricultural Research Centre as per the concept of land bank under the ownership of Nepal Sanskrit University in Deukhuri, Dang, has been passed, said Adhikari.
