KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Friday issued a show cause order to the government for dissolving the House of Representatives.
The Constitutional bench consisting of five justices including Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JBR, completed the hearing of writ petitions challenging the government’s decision to dissolve the parliament and ordered the government to provide the original documents of the decision made by the Council of Minister and Office of the President regarding the same.
The bench also ordered all the related documents related to the parliament to be present before it.
Advocates arguing for the reinstatement of the Parliament had asked for an interim order to stop the government from implementing the decision to dissolve the house.
However, the bench refused to issue interim order on the issue.
Similarly, the SC also asked for a amicus curiae regarding the writ petition from Nepal Bar Association and Supreme Court Bar Association.
