HETAUDA: Dormani Paudel, Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, today sacked Deputy Parliamentary Party leader Shalikram Jamarkattel and party’s whip Buddhiman Majhi.
CM Paudel decided to relieve them of their positions after they filed a no confidence motion against the government.
Along with them, CM Paudel also sought written clarification from 30 other leaders, who had agreed with Jamarkattel’s proposal of filing the no-confidence motion, informed Chief Whip Keshav Raj Pandey.
Bagmati Province Internal Affairs and Law Minister Salikram Jamarkattel, Social Development Minister Yuvaraj Dulal and Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Minister Arun Nepal had submitted their resignations on Friday.
On the same day, leader Jamarkattel had proposed to file a no-confidence motion against the Paudel-led government at the provincial secretariat, which leader Nepal agreed to.
Both the sacked leaders are close to Pushpa Kamal Dahal-Madhav Kumar Nepal led faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP).
CM’s decision has come at a time when the recently split NCP’s factions — one led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the other by Dahal-Nepal — have been sacking party leaders close to their rival faction.
