The Nepali Government has decided to conduct the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) at the provincial level from 2021.
A meeting organized on Sunday by the Social Committee of Minister Council under the chairmanship of the Home Minister has officially made the decision.
As per the provision of the National Education policy, the Grade 10 examinations can be conducted at the provincial level while Grade 12 examinations at the central level. However, the Nepali Government had so far conducted Grade 10 examinations at the central level.
In the meeting, the Social Committee also approved the proposal of the Regional Education Directorate. However, the education certificates will be issued under the name of the National Examinations Board (NEB) as before.
The NEB will remain under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the Regional Ministry of Social Development. Moreover, the Regional Director of Education will be entitled to the role of the Examination Controller.
Meanwhile, the Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE) has opened the application form for Grade 10 and the registration form for Grade 9.
