Nepal’s active COVID-19 caseload bulks up as 2,548 new infections detected

Nepal has recorded 2,548 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday as per the latest data of the health ministry. As a result, the active caseload of Nepal has breached the 35,000 mark as the tally stands at 35,485 cases.

A total of 12,378 people were tested on Sunday, and 2,548 tested positive for infection from this populace on Sunday.

2,029 people have recovered from the infection. However, 55 people succumbed to the deadly virus 24 hours ago. A total of 802 infected people lie in ICUs, and 181 fight for their lives by being on ventilators.

31,963 are expunging the infection by isolating themselves to their homes. 3,522 are in institutional isolation, and 475 people are in quarantine.

Kathmandu Valley recorded 951 coronavirus cases on Sunday. 740 cases were detected in the national capital city and 155 cases in the Lalitpur district from this populace. From the active caseload, 10,383 cases arise from Kathmandu Valley.
