Nepal’s health ministry has confirmed that the country’s coronavirus caseload has increased as 3,274 new infections were detected. The total tally has reached 814,127 on Tuesday.
A total of 11,565 swab samples were collected in the last 24 hours, and after testing them using the RT-PCR method, 2,456 samples were detected positive for the infection. Effectively, the PCR method returned with 21.23 positivity percent.
Another 6,124 people were tested with the antigen method, and 818 tested positive. Statistically, the antigen method had a 13.35 positivity rate. The current data brought the overall positivity rate to 18.51 percent.
Today, Nepal has 39,871 active cases, and 3,296 are hospitalized. 790 patients are in intensive care, while 191 infected people are on ventilators.
Twenty-seven mortalities induced by coronavirus were detected in the last 24 hours. A total of 10,354 people have died due to this viral infection in Nepal. Fortunately, 1,929 people have achieved complete recovery from the infection.
So far, 687,069 have recovered from the COVID-19 infection. Nepali recovery rate is 93.2 percent, and the mortality rate is 1.5 percent.
Until now, 3,586,673 Nepalis have been fully vaccinated, and 4,764,856 are partially vaccinated.
