Government-owned telecommunications organization, Nepal Telecom, stated it would distribute free SIM cards to senior citizens for the next 10 days. Those are who are older than 60 years will get the cards.
Nepal Telecom announced to commemorate the International Day for Older Persons. This is a day celebrated globally on Friday.
The people who get the free SIM cards will get free NPR 10 as a balance. Additionally, the subscribers will get free talkative of 40 minutes and 20 free SMSs’ and free data of 60 MB, which can be used in the month.
The global theme of this celebration is Digital Equity for All Ages. The Nepal Telecom announcement falls in line with the theme of the day. The senior citizens of Nepal are already eligible for medical treatment bill waivers, among other benefits.
