KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 5
Nepali taekwondo player Palesha Goverdhan bagged the historic gold medal in the Asian Youth Para Games in Manama today.
Goverdhan, who created history by registering two wins in the Tokyo Paralympic Games earlier this year, defeated Roza Ebrahimi of Iran 6-0 in the final to claim the gold medal in the K-44 category of the below-57kg section, informed her coach Kabiraj Negi Lama.
Nepal also bagged one each silver and bronze medals. Shrijana Ghising finished second in below-52kg weight category after she faced a 18-0 defeat at the hands of Sahar Ghanbarikomishani of Iran in the final.
Also, Bishal Garbuja won bronze in below-68kg section after he lost 32-6 against Uzbekistan’s Kudratillo Shonazarov in the semi-finals.
