KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 08
Nepal’s coronavirus caseload reached 800,997 on Friday with 715 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 774,173 with 1,033 discharges logged today.
On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,210 with 10 more fatalities.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 10,688 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 9,466 were PCR tests while 1,222 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,273,533 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 49 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 764.
Nepal’s Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 96.7 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.
The country’s active Covid-19 case count currently is 15,614.
Currently, there are 241 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
The capital district holds the highest number of infections with 229 cases in the country while Morang is second in line with 72 cases today.
So far, a total of 14,483,226 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 8,041,594 have received the first dose while only 6,441,632 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.
Globally, over 237 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.8 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 214 million people have recovered while more than 17 million cases are still active.
