Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane is heading to participate in The Hundred tournament in the UK. The event, a professional 100-ball cricket tournament, is scheduled to start on July 22.
The cricketer boarded a Turkish Airlines jet and will comply with the UK COVID-19 protocol by staying in quarantine for 10 days after arriving at the destination, his manager Raman Siwakoti said.
Sandeep will be tested twice for coronavirus via PCR method, and only if both the tests come negative for the virus will he be allowed to play in the tournament.
The Nepali will be playing for Oval Invincibles, and he will be paid £ 100,000 to play the match. He will be playing against Manchester Originals at the opening match. The match previously got delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
After this match, Sandeep will be playing in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) after the match, said his manager.
