Police confront protesters with lit flambeau as capital’s political scenario heats up following house dissolution.

On December 20, PM Oli had recommended the dissolution of House of Representatives, which was promptly approved by President Bidya Devi Bhandari. This created much chaos within the political sphere of the country, while also putting the Prime Minister’s and President’s intentions into questioning as President Bidya Devi Bhandari approved Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s decision to dissolve the House of Representatives on and announced that mid-term elections would be held in April-May, 2021.
Furthermore, the uncalled move of dissolving the House has ushered much flak and widespread condemnation for PM KP Oli, who is already walking on thin ice.
