Grocery store owner robbed of cash, phone recharge cards in Kailali

DHANGADHI: A grocery store owner was robbed of Rs 52,000 cash and phone recharge cards in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City of Kailali district, on Monday night.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pratik Bista at Kailali District Police Office, an unidentified person robbed Yadav Prasad Bhatta of cash and recharge cards at Boradadi, at around 7:45 pm yesterday.

“An unidentified youth wearing a police combat jacket came on a motorcycle to the store and pointed a gun to my temple threatening to kill me if I called for help,” store owner Bhatta said, and added that the youth took out the cash from a drawer and recharge cards kept for sale at the store.

The youth had come to buy a recharge card but when the store owner asked for money for the same, the youth pointed the gun at him and made off with the cash and recharge cards, according to grocery store owner Bhatta.

A team of police personnel reached the store but the robber had fled the scene by then.

Meanwhile, investigation into the incident is underway while search is on for the robber, police informed.
