BAJURA: A house has been built for the family of Dhana Bahadur Rawat of Rawatwada in Budhinanda Municipality-1 of Bajura district.
The Rawat family had been living in a shed after he became bedridden on suffering from paralysis, while building a house. The family has no other income earner. Moreover, one of his sons is also a person with disabilities.
The municipality’s ward chair, Nrip Khatri said Rawat has also been provided with goats to establish an income source.
The construction of the house and the distribution of goats were carried out through the campaign launched by Badimalika Khabar, a local news portal, in coordination with various donors. The action was initiated after Badimalika Khabar reported about Rawat’s family dwelling in a shed belonging to others.

Nepalis living and working in India, social workers Samrat C Basnet, Prakash Jaisi and Badimalika Khabar helped in the construction of Rawat’s house while the goats were handed over to him by Shanti Sewa Griha (SSG), Tilganga in Kathmandu in coordination with German national Marianne Grispietch.
Three nanny-goats worth Rs 32,000 were handed over to the Rawat family, the SSG’s representative Bijendra Kunwar said.
Ward chair Khatri said widower Rawat used to earn living and pay for his two sons by working in India. However, his two sons have been left in the lurch after he became bedridden. His oldest son died in childhood.
Rawat said all his money was spent to save the lives of his wife and the eldest son but in vain.
He expressed his pleasure that his house was constructed and he was provided with goats.
