BAJURA: A motorable wooden bridge has been constructed over Budhiganga river along the Sanfe-Martadi road section in Bajura district. Badimalika Municipality built the bridge after construction of a bailey bridge was delayed.
The bridge has come into operation from Tuesday.
“Jeeps, tractors, mini trucks, and motorcycles will be able to use the newly constructed wooden bridge,” informed Mayor Padam Baduwal of Badimalika Municipality.
The bailey bridge that was swept away by the flood over the river on August 9 had been disrupting transportation between the district headquarters and other parts of the district.
Although the wooden bridge will be able to hold light vehicles, the buses plying Sanfe-Martadi road section will have to wait till the bailey bridge is constructed. Buses in the route can currently go till Baldhe along the road section.
Construction of the bridge has eased the movement of patients that have been referred to health facilities outside the district from Bajura District Hospital.
Meanwhile, the bailey bridge that is being constructed by M/S MK Builders and Construction Company Pvt Ltd of Dhangadhi, Kailali will soon be completed, informed the road division. The construction is scheduled to be completed before mid-February of the coming year.
