The Nepali health ministry has reported that the country’s total tally of COVID-19 infections has reached 716,049 on Sunday as the ministry confirmed the existence of 1,801 new cases.
In the last 24 hours, 6,628 swabs samples were collected and tested for the virus using the RT-PCR method. From these samples, 1,223 swabs tested positive for the virus. Additionally, 3,000 people underwent antigen testing, and 578 people tested positive for the virus in these tests.
Individually, PCR tests have an 18.45 positivity percentage, and antigen tests have a 19.26 positivity percentile. Overall, the gross positivity rate of Nepal is 18.70 percent.
With the current data, Nepal has 25,485 active cases. 2,651 are hospitalized, while 561 are fending the infection under intensive care units. In addition, 165 people are on ventilators.
Unfortunately, 23 people have succumbed to the virus. Thankfully, 1,667 people have recovered from the infection. 632,074 people have recovered from this virus. A total of 9,550 COVID-19 fatalities have occurred as per the ministry.
