KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 11
The Nepal national women’s cricket team missed the flight from Dhaka on Thursday after the team failed to meet coronavirus protocol and was forced to take the land route back home.
The cricketers, who had gone to Bangladesh to prepare for the ICC Twenty20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers, were not allowed to enter the airport as they did not have PCR reports.
Nepal played three friendly matches with Bangladesh Krira Shikka Protisthan (BKSP) winning the series 2-1.
The team was scheduled to board a flight at 9:00AM but the cricketers were denied entry in the absence of PCR reports, informed the Cricket Association of Nepal.
According to CAN, the team will arrive home by Friday and it will leave for Qatar for three-match T20I series on Sunday.
After the series in Qatar, the team will fly for the United Arab Emirates on November 19 to participate in the ICC Twenty20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers slated for November 22-28.
