Nepal Finance Ministry Focuses on Government Vehicles

The finance ministry stated that it is collecting the details of all the vehicles procured by the government.

This includes operational and non-operational vehicles across Nepal.

Janardan Sharma, the finance minister, said that the collection of records was happening as the government was unaware of how many vehicles the administration owned.

“But, there are always demands for new vehicles,” the Minister said. These statements came at a meeting which discussed Sustainable Development in the House of Representatives.

Janardan Sharma stated the records would help the government buy new vehicles only if they needed one.

“They say they need vehicles, but there is no record of how many vehicles are purchased so far. You keep on buying, but you don’t know who is using what and where,” the Minister lamented.
