KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 29

Nepal recorded 490 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 811,897, while the death toll climbed to 11,388 with six fatalities today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 790,358 with 569 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 9,746 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,145 were PCR tests while 2,601 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,409,727 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 59 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 549.

Nepal’s Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.3%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country’s active Covid-19 case count currently is 10,151.

Currently, there are 212 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Thursday, Nepal had recorded 527 cases of coronavirus while two more succumbed to the infection during the same time.
