KATHMANDU: Main opposition Nepali Congress has been preparing to stage demonstrations in 165 electoral constituencies on Monday against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s sudden move to dissolve the House of Representatives.
“The day the House was dissolved, I declared the PM’s move unconstitutional and undemocratic in the meeting held with present and former members of the party. Hence, the NC has stood united against the step taken in contradiction to the constitution and against people’s sentiments,” NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba said in a statement issued today.
Deuba said that he proposed to conduct the anti-government demonstration in the party’s central working committee and that the party has now become fully concentrated in the protest programme.
NC president Deuba has urged all to take part in the protest against dissolution of the House and untimely call for elections.
