Nepathya to rock Damak on New Year

KATHMANDU, APRIL 07

After two years of Covid-imposed hibernation, Nepathya, folk-rock band, is gearing to welcome New Year with a bang at Damak concert.

Nepathya’s first public concert post-covid is scheduled for 14th April, in Damak of Eastern Nepal. The open-air concert will be held on the premises of Saraswati Higher Secondary School, more popularly known ass ‘Itabhatta School‘ amongst locals.

With this visit, the band will be performing for the fifth time in the town, fast burgeoning into a Trade and Art hub in Eastern Nepal. Earlier the band had entertained the audiences in 2018.

Amrit Gurung, the band’s leader and vocalist, said “As the world went into hibernation, I retired to my ancestral village, remote hills of Kaski district.” He further said that he devoted his time to farming during the pandemic.

“We are very fortunate that the scientists discovered anti-viral vaccines in such a short period,” Gurung added that the time has slowly come for us to recalibrate into our normal lives. “The concert is a tribute to the spirit of celebration and renewal that a new year brings.”

The concert is being jointly organized by Nepali Touch and Dhrubatara Sporting Club, which is celebrating it’s 30th year of establishment.

Tickets for the concerts are available at local counters at Damak, Kakadbhitta, Birtamode, Urlabari, Itahari, Pathari, Letang, Dharan, Biratnagar, Gauradha and Dudhe.

Additionally, online tickets can be purchased directly from www.thuprai.com/nepathya. According to the local organizers, the tickets are priced Rs 1000.
