KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has reached Sheetal Niwas with the official letter recommending the President to dissolve the House of Representatives.
The Oli government had decided to dissolve the House at an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers held early on Sunday.
It is now to be seen whether or not the President will approve the government’s recommendation, arguments on the legality of which have begun to surface since the reports of the same were published.
PM Oli made the sudden, yet not totally unexpected move after a series of meetings with top leaders of the ruling party and ministers in his cabinet on Saturday.
