KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 24
Martins Kayode Ajayi scored the solitary goal as newcomers Satdobato defeated already-relegated Chyasal Youth Club 1-0 in their last match of the Qatar Airways Martyrs Memorial A Division League here at the ANFA Complex grounds today.
Ajayi found the back of the nets in the sixth minute of the match after he collected a pass from Sudip Gurung, who was fed by a quick free kick from Peter Segun. With six wins and four draws in their top flight debut, Satdobato ended campaign on a high accumulating 21 points from 13 matches.
Satdobato moved to third position ahead of New Road Team and Manang Marshyangdi Club, who have one match each remaining. Machhindra Football Club, who have sealed the second straight league title, are at the top with 32 points, while Tribhuvan Army FC are second on 22.
NRT and Manang are tied on 20 points, two more than sixthplaced Three Star Club. Sankata Club and Nepal APF FC have 15 points each. Chyasal, who are already relegated to second division along with fellow Lalitpur side Brigade Boys Club, finished the league at the bottom after they managed just one win and three draws. Chyasal ended on six points, while BBC have seven from 12 matches.
In another match at the Dasharath Stadium, Himalayan Sherpa Club and Friends Club played a 1-1 draw. After a goalless first half, Friends took lead in the 73rd minute through an own goal from Diwash Uraum who headed into his own nets while trying to save a free kick from Jamoul Anthony Paul. Himalayan Sherpa midfielder Bhison Gurung levelled the scores one minute from time. After their last match, Himalayan Sherpa accumulated 14 points from 13 matches, while Friends ended the campaign with 11 points.
