Swimmer Gaurika Singh will lead Nepal as flagbearer during the inaugural ceremony of the upcoming Tokyo Olympics 2020 scheduled from July 23 to August 8.

So far, Nepal had participated in the Olympics 14 times. However, the country has not won even one medal and hopes to prove its mettle in the upcoming Olympics.
“We are hopeful that the players would improve their personal records in the Games,” said National Sports Council (NSC) Member Secretary Ramesh Kumar Silwal.
Silwal is going to lead the Nepali team in the capacity of chef-de-mission in the Tokyo Olympics.
Likewise, NOC President Jeevan Ram Shrestha said that the Nepali team had the best ever and longest preparation for the Olympics. The team had started their training in May 2019 with 12 players receiving International Olympic Committee (IOC) scholarships.
