KATHMANDU: Winter persists with chilly weather as December is coming to a close in a few days.
Minimum temperature in Kathmandu valley fell as low as 1.3 degrees Celsius today. This is the lowest temperature in the valley this year.
Prior to setting today’s lowest record of the year, the temperature had dropped to 1.6 degrees Celsius on December 18.
Department of Hydrology and Meteorology had shared that this winter is colder compared to last year. The minimum temperature of Kathmandu valley was 3 degrees Celsius on December 18 last year.
Kathmandu’s maximum temperature today, on the other hand, is 19 degrees Celsius, shared Meteorological Forecasting Division.
Meanwhile, Jumla recorded the lowest temperature of minus 6.4 degrees Celsius today. Its maximum was reported to be 15.7 degrees Celsius.
Similarly, Bhairahawa has the highest maximum temperature today of 25.6 degrees Celsius.
