The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka: Now Available In Nepali

KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 15

The Metamorphosis, first published in 1915, tells the story of Gregor Samsa – a salesman who, one morning, wakens to find himself inexplicably transformed into a giant instinct. As a result of his new condition, Samsa is unavailable to continue his employment and becomes a victim of hatred by his family. Written in the style of magic realism, Kafka’s work showcases human selfishness to the extreme.

Published for the first time as an illustrated novel in the Nepali language, with over 80 black and white illustrations across 122 pages, this novel is available from November 2021 under print on demand services and eBook editions through different online platforms, including Apple Books. According to Ram Chandra Khatri, translator of the book, it is available in paperback for $15.99 and in ebook for $9.99.

Print copies can be ordered from major platforms including Amazon and Barnes & Noble in selected countries while book excerpt can be downloaded from the translator’s website. For now, the eBook can be purchased through Apple books.
