KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 16

US Chargé d’Affaires to Nepal Megan Boldin paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Balendra Shah at the Office of the Prime Minister in Singha Durbar today.

During the meeting, Shah stressed the need to strengthen global cooperation and collective efforts to reduce climate-induced disasters and address their impacts.

According to the Prime Minister’s Press and Research Expert Dipa Dahal, Shah also discussed Nepal’s tourism potential and opportunities for mutual benefit through its development, urging the US official to encourage greater investment in Nepal.

Shah thanked the US government for its support following the Bhotekoshi floods and expressed sorrow over the loss of Nepali and foreign lives in the disaster.

Boldin expressed condolences over the loss of lives and property and conveyed the US government’s solidarity with Nepal and its people. She said the US was ready to support relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.
