Woman mayor in Hetauda sub-metropolis

HETAUDA, MAY 21

A woman candidate for mayoral post from the five party alliance, Mina Kumari Lama of CPN (Unified socialist), has won the election in Hetauda sub-metropolis, Makawanpur.

Lama was the only woman candidate for the post and she won the election as mayor of the metropolis. She received 23,080 votes while her closest rival Ananta Poudel from CPN-UML got 20,908 votes.

Similarly, the deputy mayoral candidate from the alliance Rajesh Baniya of Nepali Congress won the post. He received 32,509 votes while his closest rival Sumitra Kafle of UML received 23,909 votes. UML had won the elections earlier. With this, the vote counting in Makawanpur district is almost completed at the local level.

The mayoral candidate from the alliance Bishnu Bista of CPN-MC and deputy mayoral candidate Bharat Gopali from Nepali Congress won the election in Thaha Municipality.

Similarly, the chairman candidate Lok Bahadur Moktan of Nepali Congress and vicechair candidate Bal Kumar Malla of CPN-MC have won the election in Kailash Rural Municipality.

The chairman candidate Raj Kumar Malla of NC and vice-chair candidate Banmastam Thing of CPN-MC won the election in Raksirang Rural Municipality.

In Manahari Rural Municipality, NC’s Ranjan Lakakheti won the election of chairman and Rekha Pulami of MC won the vice-chair post. CPN-MC’s Sarkesh Ghalan and NC’s Phanendra Timilsina won the election in Bagmati Rural Municipality as chairman and vice-chairman respectively.

Likewise, chairman candidate Dharma Raj Lamichhane of Nepali Congress and vice-chairman candidate Bhakta Bahadur Khatri have won the election in Bakaiya Rural Municipality.

In Makawanpurgadi Rural Municipality, NC’s Dorjee Lama and Man Kumari Nepali of CPN-MC won the chair and vice-chair posts respectively.

Likewise, the chairman candidate Dev Krishna Pudasaini and vice-chair candidate Uma Kumari Lama of CPN-UML won the election in Indrasarobar Rural Municipality.

Similarly, UML’s Hidam Lama and alliance candidate Sanjiv Shrestha of NC won the election in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality.
